Betty Archdale: Her Life of Feminism, Cricket, War & Education

This is the biography of Betty Archdale, born in London in 1907.

At St Leonard's School in Scotland, she learnt the formidable cricketing skills which led her to captain the first English women's cricket team to tour Australia in 1934 to 1935.

Immediately after the war, she returned to Australia to become Principal of Women's College at the University of Sydney.

From 1958 to 1970 she was headmistress of Abbotsleigh, the Sydney girls' school where her good humour and wisdom won her a fierce loyalty.
