A collection of short stories featuring the Red Dog (1972-79), a real dog that has been immortalised by a bronze statue outside the town of Dampier, in outback Western Australia.

The stories are based on real incidents but feature invented characters. Includes two-colour illustrations and a glossary of Australianisms.

The author lives in Norfolk and his previous works include 'The War of Don Emmanuel's Nether Parts' and 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin', both of which were awarded the Commonwealth Writers Prize.
